Centre Volunteer Opportunities
Receptionist
Description: Phones, greeting visitors and participants, misc. duties.
Qualifications: Friendly, outgoing and must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Shifts: 8:45 am – 12:45 pm and 12:30 – 4:15 pm. Shifts are once a week for either half a day or full day.
Table and Chair Set up
Description: Table and chair set up for events.
Hours of work: As needed per event.
Table Settings
Description: Setting tables with cutlery, cups, centerpieces and condiments.
Hours of Work: As per event.
Handyman
Description: Help with maintenance of building.
Hours of work: As needed.
Photographer
Description: Take pictures at special events.
Hours of work: As needed per event.
Gardener
Thank you to Green Thumb for looking after all lawn & yard maintenance free to our Centre.
Community Resource Volunteer Opportunities
Kitchen Help
Description: Help prepare meals under the direction of the Kitchen Coordinator for the Meals Program. Includes cleanup.
Qualifications: Some kitchen experience would be appreciated. Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Hours of work: As per discussion with Kitchen Coordinator. Hours are Mon- Fri 9:00 a.m. until cleanup after lunch. Some standby help is required.
Event Cleanup / Kitchen Help
Description: Food preparations, serving food/beverages, clearing tables, doing dishes and misc. other kitchen related tasks.
Hours of Work: As needed per event.
Deliver Meals
Description: To deliver Meals on Wheels.
Qualifications: Must have valid driver’s license, proof of vehicle registration and current criminal record check.
Hours of work: Drivers are usually done by 12:00 – 12:30. Casual drivers are also required. Light lunch provided to drivers after delivering meals.
Transportation
Description: To drive seniors to and from appointments in Steinbach and Winnipeg.
Qualifications: Must have valid driver’s license, proof of vehicle registration and current criminal record check. Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Hours of work: As needed by the senior requiring transportation
Friendly Visitor
Description: To visit one on one with a senior.
Qualifications: Compassionate and some knowledge of senior mental health would be an asset. Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Hours of Work: Done at convenience of volunteer and senior.
* All volunteer positions will be required to have a Criminal Record Check and complete a Volunteer Application Form as part of our volunteer process.
