Transportation

This program provides a ride to and from Steinbach and Winnipeg appointments including:

Doctor’s Appointments
Shopping Trips
Errands

The program is focused on seniors, individuals with a low or fixed income and people whose family and friends are unable to drive them. Anybody can access the program as long as they’re able to transfer in and out of a regular vehicle

We require a minimum of 24 hours. However, the more notice you are able to give the more likely we are able to find you a driver.

Destinations within Steinbach are priced per stop/one way. Destinations outside of Steinbach are priced for a round-trip. Payments are made directly to the volunteer driver.

Friendly Visitor

Do you desire someone to keep you company for a few hours? We have delightful volunteers who are available for one or two hours each week to make regular visits to your house to keep you company while you engage in whatever fun project you have planned. These include cards, puzzles, going for a walk or simply just chatting.

Contact our CRC to request a friendly visitor for yourself or someone else.

Equipment Loans

Wheelchairs, walkers, and canes are available to borrow for up to three months.

A medial health professional must send a referral with the client's height and weight in order to have access to our equipment.

Examples of professionals include:

Equipment may only be loaned to a client living in a private residence. We can not loan equipment to a resident of an institution.

This service is available free of charge but donations are greatly appreciated. We also accept donations of mobility equipment.

All donations go directly back to the program for equipment maintenance, repair and replacement.

We’d like to thank the Steinbach Royal Canadian Legion #190 for it’s generous donation of equipment and money to purchase more specialized equipment.
